Winchcombe and Gretton Crime update

Alert message sent 30/09/2021 15:34:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

A garage at a house in Gretton Road, Winchcombe was entered during the night of 23rd and 24th September.  The garage door was forced open but nothing appears to have been stolen.  The offenders also made an unsuccessful attempt to take a bike carrier of a vehicle parked in the area.

Bike carriers left on vehicles parked outside homes may indicate to a thief that there are expensive bikes stored in a shed or garage and they may be tempted to look inside. Please consider removing these carriers unless they are in regular use.

300 litres of red diesel was stolen from a tank at a farm in the Gretton area during the night of 26th and 27th September.  If you do store diesel at your premises then please take extra precautions during the current fuel delivery situation.

Please make sure your outbuildings are kept locked, and if they contain valuable items such as bikes, golf equipment or tools then suitable extra security measures should be adopted.  More security advice can be found at Keeping your shed or garage safe and secure https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/protect-home-crime/secure-shed-garage/
