Sneak in thief strikes in Abbeydale

Alert message sent 14/09/2021 10:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

At around 3.15pm on Monday 13th September a sneak in thief climbed over the rear fence of a property in Robin Close, Abbeydale.  The rear door had been left open by the owner while she was occupied outside the front of the house.  The thief entered the house and made off with a laptop computer and also damaged the garden fence while gaining access to the rear.

Please be aware that this kind of opportunist thief is active in the area, and we should all be cautious about leaving doors unlocked or open while the fine and warm weather lasts. If someone sees you are busy at one side of the house, perhaps gardening, they may be tempted to see if you have left a door or window open and to take a look inside.  Its far better to be safe than sorry under these circumstances.

Please call 101 if you have any information regarding this crime.  Alternatively report information on line at https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/soh/something-youve-seen-or-heard/

Please report any suspicious activity straight away and if you believe a crime is being committed dial 999 immediately.

You can report information about criminal activity anonymously to CrimeStoppers by calling 0800 555111 or online at  https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/pre-form
