Criminal damage in Butterow

Alert message sent 22/07/2020 11:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Gloucestershire Constabulary

We are appealing for information to identify the person responsible for spray painting a building on Butterow Hill. Between 2pm and 6:50pm on Sunday 12th July “BLM” was sprayed onto the wall of The Old Chapel in Butterow, Stroud. Whilst we support the sentiment that Black Lives Matter we need to point out that this is a listed heritage building and the removal of the graffiti is likely to damage the fabric of the building. This is a busy lane and the weather on Sunday afternoon was good. We are hoping that a resident or person making their way up to the common might be able to help us identify a culprit.
