Theft From Motor Vehicle

Alert message sent 19/07/2020 08:45:00

Information sent on behalf of Gloucestershire Constabulary

Theft from motor vehicle is  making a resurgence across the Stroud Policing area where there were 10 incidents between 11th and 13th July. 7 of these involved vans and resulted in the theft of tools. 3 of them were in the Stonehouse area and appear to be linked incidents.
Offences were also recorded in Cam, Dursley and Kingswood.

Where you can, please remove all valuables, work tools and equipment from your vehicles whenever you leave it, and especially at night. Also consider fitting an alarm to the storage area of your van.

Stroud Neighbourhood Policing Team will be at B & Q in Stroud on 29/7/2020 and we would like to see tradesmen and women to discuss the security of their vans and equipment and measures they can take to secure their tools and equipment.

Always report suspicious activity straight away and if you believe a crime is being committed then dial 999.

You can also report information regarding criminal activity anonymously to Crime Stoppers by ringing 0800 555111
