Gloucestershire Constabulary Forest Neighbourhood Policing Team, Special Constables and Traffic Officers attended Highnam, Newent and Huntley on Sunday 31st May 2020 to conduct speed checks and educate road users for Operation Haste.  Police are conducting these checks all over the county for the National Speed Campaign.
Police stopped 14 vehicles at Highnam, one of which was found the be driving under the influence of alcohol and towing a trailer. The driver was arrested and dealt with accordingly.
All vehicles travelling along Watery Lane Newent and Culver Street Newent were abiding by the speed limits however drivers were issued words of advice for parking on the white zigzags outside the Cooperative in Newent High Street.
On the A40 at Huntley  Village 4 vehicles was stopped as they was exceeding the 30mph speed limit.
