Northleach Burglary

Between 1800 hours on Monday 25 May and 0700 on Tuesday 26 May 2020 in the area of Bassett Road, Northleach, unknown offenders have accessed the site by cutting the locks off the main gates. Once in the site/allotment they have used what is believed to be an angle grinder to access an out building and taken a radio system. They have then broken a window hidden at the side of the main building and climbed through, the locks at the main doors to be the building have then been broken into from the inside, again with what’s believed to be an angle grinder. A Wacker plate worth £1000, a large generator also worth £1000 and a 5ft x 4ft Ifor Williams trailer worth £500 have been taken, together with a number of compressor hoses and large pieces of machinery and a trailer. Please consider the security at the rear of your homes as patio doors are particularly vulnerable, and are a favourite point of entry for burglars.  Also, remember to always remove the keys from the inside of any glazed or partially glazed external door when you go out, go on holiday or go away for the weekend, as thieves will use the key to gain entry if they can see it through the glass.
