Theft of number plates

Alert message sent 21/05/2020 16:56:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

The rear number plate was stolen off a car parked in Two Hedges Road in Bishops Cleeve at about 8.45pm on 19th May.  The owner saw this happen and the offender ran off when he realised he had been spotted.  No description of this person is available. Incident No.58 of 20th May refers.

This kind of theft is reported quite regularly in your part of the county so it would be wise to check your vehicle regularly.  If your number plates do go missing you should report the theft to the police straight away.  Doing so will prevent any complications at a later date especially if your plates are put on another vehicle that is used in crime.

Please call 101 if you have any information regarding this type of crime or saw or heard any unusual activity in the area at the time of the incident. When you call please quote incident number shown above.  Alternatively report information on line at https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/do-it-online/report-a-crime-or-provide-information-anonymously/report-a-crime-or-incident/

If you see or hear anything suspicious report it straight away to 101 or online and if you believe a crime is being committed then dial 999. You can also report information regarding criminal activity anonymously to Crime Stoppers by ringing 0800 555111.

Although the level of burglaries is lower than this time last year, we must not become complacent and should not be tempted to leave windows and doors open during this pleasant period of warm weather.  Please remain alert.

This is the end of the message.
