Reported at 10.50am on 21st May that during the early hours of the morning access had been gained to a house in Alstone Lane by using the victims own ladder left in the rear garden. Access through a first floor insecure window. Premises searched with cash and a box of earrings, bracelets and necklaces being stolen. Inc. 164 21-05-2020 St Marks

Thefts from Motor Vehicles

Reported that the blue disabled parking badge went missing from an insecure vehicle in Glebe Farm Court on 30th April.  Inc.227 15-05-2020  Benhall/Up Hatherley

Ford Alloy cap stolen from offside wheel of car in Windyridge Gardens overnight of the 16th 17th May. Nearside one also attempted but left behind. Inc. 313 17-05-2020 Swindon Village

At 5pm on 20th May two persons took a BMW vehicle for a test drive from Pennsylvania Avenue. On their return with the vehicle, the keys they handed over did not work with the vehicle. Following a confrontation with the vehicle’s owner the two persons left the scene in their own vehicle at speed with the correct keys for the BMW. It is believed that this is an attempt to steal the BMW at a later date with the correct keys. Inc. 363 20-05-2020 St Marks

Reported at 7.10pm on 20th May that a car in Knapp Road had been attacked by smashing the rear boot window and stealing a GT Grade Alloy 105 cycle. 3 persons were seen to run away with the cycle; one desc:- tall, med build wearing pale grey cycling trousers above the knee, marine blue sweatshirt, marine blue cap with white brim. The second:- slim, dark clothing, black track suit .No desc of the third person.  Inc. 435 20-05-2020 Town Centre.

Always lock your car when your leave it and do not leave valuable property in unattended vehicles.
Also make sure your house is secure when you leave home, including upstairs windows. Do not leave keys in locks close to glass which can be smashed to access the keys and release the locks.
