Tool Thefts

Alert message sent 01/05/2020 11:17:00

Information sent on behalf of Gloucestershire Constabulary

The night of 29/4 into 30/4 saw two crimes involving the theft of power tools in the Dursley area. One of these was from a secured building where access was gained via the roof, the other was from a motor vehicle. Motor vehicles can be relatively easy targets and we would recommend removing tools from a vehicle overnight if possible and securing them in a building. The secured building was entered through the roof and held a number of tools of significant value hence the extra effort offenders have gone to. If you store or hold a stock of value like this for work or home maintenance you may want to consider additional security measures. Securing the perimeter in terms of fencing and gates would be a first step, possibly consider security cameras or lighting around your perimeter and the building. Movement sensors inside the building would be the step after that.
