Burglary alert |
||
|
We're asking homeowners to be vigilant following a number of attempted shed break-ins on a road in Quedgeley recently.
It was reported that homeowners had disturbed unknown offenders who had entered a number of gardens on Church Drive on Sunday 8 and Sunday 22 February.
On each occasion nothing was stolen but it is believed that offenders had caused damage during their attempts to gain access to sheds.
Officers attended the addresses and conducted searches of the local area but those responsible had ran away and enquiries are now ongoing to identify them.
Anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has information about the shed break-ins is asked to complete the following online form: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/soh/seen-or-heard/
Officers would like to remind residents of the protective measures that can be taken to help ensure homes and gardens are as safe as possible.
There are a number of measures that can be taken to help protect your home from burglary with homeowners advised to install a ‘WIDE’ combination of security devices as well as ensuring that back gates are secure.
A 'WIDE' combination includes: Window locks, Indoor lights on timer switches, Double door locks or deadbolts and External lights on a sensor.
More information keeping your shed or garage safe and secure can be found here: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/protect-home-crime/secure-shed-garage/ | ||
