Good afternoon,
The team have identified a small series of quad bike thefts across the county in the last few days. With that in mind could all quad bike and off road utility vehicle owners (or even high value vehicle owners!) be aware of the following: - Please check your quad, UTV and other machines are safe and secure. Ensure barns are locked and your property is as secure as it can be. - If you have CCTV, please ensure it is working and your machines covered by it if possible. Security lighting will always be beneficial too. - Vehicle trackers can make a big difference in our opportunities to recover stolen vehicles (see below). One quad was successfully recovered this week from another force area thanks to a tracking device!
If you have noticed your quad or UTV (or other relevant agricultural machines or vehicles) have been stolen and not yet reported it - please call 101 or use the online reporting system on the website and ask for it to be brought to the attention of the Rural Crime Team. The team are working very hard to try to identify a suspect for these offences and sometimes it's the reports we haven't yet received that contain the missing piece of the puzzle.
We are currently running a scheme in partnership with AX TRACK (hidden trackers concealed in your machine) and VIN CHIP (who use RFID Technology - like a microchip all over your machine) that can hugely aid recovery of stolen quads and vehicles. For further information on these products visit the below and complete the contact form and refer to the Gloucestershire Constabulary Scheme: AX TRACK - use discount code GLOSPolice@AXTrack - Vehicle Tracking and Recovery Solutions | 99.1% Recovery Rate | AX Track VIN CHIP - Vin Chip | VIN CHIP – Gloucestershire Farm & Estate Watch Partnership
Thank you PS Samantha SWINFORD Rural, Wildlife and Heritage Crime Sergeant
